Cecily

In February 2015, Cecily was born with congenital heart disease, Double Outlet, Right Ventricle and a Ventricular Septal Defect. At 2 weeks old her cardiac function suddenly decreased significantly and she was placed on ECMO heart and lung life support. She had open heart surgery and a cardiac catheter while on life support. At 3 weeks old, when her failing heart showed no signs of improvement, the tests began to see if she was eligible for a heart transplant.

She was placed on the transplant list at 9 weeks old and received her new heart a week later on her father’s birthday.

Today, Cecily is a spunky 5 year old who is thriving. She loves to dance, sing and knows how to entertain an entire room. She loves to make everyone smile and captures the hearts of everyone around her.  She continues to rely on the support of her transplant team and the research that helps keep her strong and healthy.

Cecily fought for her life for 70 days before receiving her Big Gift. Please consider supporting Big Gifts for Little Lives to help children like Miss Cecily live the long and healthy lives they fought so hard for.
